Visiting the site

The site uses Cloudflare to deliver pages and process requests. Technical request data may be processed for hosting and security. SCHEFF does not add analytics, advertising trackers or tracking cookies. Fonts are served from this site.

Guide requests

When you enter your email to request the guide, we store your address, request date and source page in Cloudflare’s EU-jurisdiction database storage and save your address as a contact in Resend. Your PDF becomes available directly on this website through a download link that expires after 30 minutes. The signup form also subscribes you to occasional SCHEFF emails about focus, discipline and purpose, as stated next to the button. We record your consent wording, version, time and source page and add your address to the SCHEFF segment in Resend. This is a single opt-in: no confirmation email is sent and your address is not marked as verified. Submitting this signup again renews your subscription. Older PDF-only forms do not subscribe you.

Local PDF-only request records are removed after 30 days. Newsletter signup records are retained while the subscription is active. The Resend contact remains until you request removal; Resend may retain a suppression record to prevent further mail. For abuse prevention, a daily hash of the requesting IP address is stored for up to 24 hours. Raw IP addresses are not stored in the subscriber database.

Existing Private Notes subscriptions

Previously confirmed Private Notes subscriptions remain active. Resend processes email delivery and the SCHEFF newsletter segment. Unconfirmed requests are removed after 30 days. Existing guide email deliveries may be retried for up to 23 hours. PDF-only requests preserve existing preferences; submitting the current signup form gives fresh consent to SCHEFF emails.

Retention and withdrawal

You can request deletion or withdraw an existing subscription at any time by emailing scheffco@icloud.com. Existing confirmation emails contain a removal link, and newsletters include an unsubscribe link. Removing your address also cancels pending delivery and revokes active download links. Confirmed newsletter subscriber data is kept only while needed for the subscription and applicable consent records. Resend may retain a suppression record to prevent further mail.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and portability where applicable, withdraw consent without affecting prior lawful processing, and complain to a competent data protection authority. Contact scheffco@icloud.com.

Providers

Cloudflare processes hosting and storage data. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy. Contractual safeguards and any applicable international transfers must be reviewed with the final publisher details. Resend stores email contacts, manages the SCHEFF segment and delivers subscription emails. See Resend’s privacy policy. Any additional newsletter provider will be identified here before use.
